The invisible barriers of sexual violence examination in the colombian armed conflict.
During the last decade, the discussion of sexual violence in the Colombian conflict has called the attention of scholars and activists. One of the most relevant concerns about this matter has dealt with the official attention that is given to these cases; but there is not much analysis on the forensic work. Studies on the type of medical legal approach devoted to women who, after being raped, are assassinated by the armed actors, practically do not exist.
This research intended to open the black box of medical legal approach in massacres occurred during the Colombian civil war, through the understanding of the factors that facilitated or obstructed the search of useful evidences for the investigation of possible sex crimes committed against women murdered in these contexts.
Two articles came out of this research:
What Does the Asphalt Hide? Transport Policy and the Process of State Formation
Colombia’s transport infrastructure has been persistently poor. Three issues have led to a feeling of frustration: the incomplete integration of marginal regions, the difficulties that producers face to reach the external market, and political interference in decisions on the transport sector. These characteristics are related to two aspects of the process of state formation: territorial integration and centralization policy. This article examines how these aspects are reflected in road development from 1966 to 2006. This will make it possible to answer some questions about when, how, and why some regions of our country became relevant for the central state. And how the center and the regions were connected during that period of time.
